Care Ministries
  It is the natural extension of Christ’s love within us to offer that love through service to those around us whether within the church, the community, or beyond. These ministries give us the opportunity to do just that.
 
Blood Donor
You have the chance to give the gift of life by donating blood once or twice a year. Contact: Joan Stout 684-3062
 
Correspondence Ministries
Remember individuals with cards, letters, devotional materials on birthdays, holidays, or just to let them know you’re thinking about them. Greeting cards are provided. Includes any of the following:

Thank You Notes from the Church Office

Hope for Healing
Meets weekly to offer care, support, and fellowship for those who have experienced losses in their lives. Contact: Sue Ackerman 922-2822
 
Food Pantry
Assist in preparing food bags for those in need, or help with the paperwork. Contact: Diane Kocher 893-4979
 
Postal Food Drive
Sort, carry, and transport food boxes for this annual drive. Contact: Diane Kocher 893-4979
 
Prayer Chain
Pray for those who request our support. Prayer requests are passed by phone. Contact: Sue Ackerman 922-2822
 
Prayer Partner
Pray for, correspond and share your faith with a specific young person who is in their last year of confirmation class. Contact: Deb Jankens 667-2189
 
Quilt Making
You don’t have to be an expert seamstress to cut, machine sew, or hand tie a quilt for Lutheran World Relief. Contact: Harriet Leinberger 686-0175
 
Funeral Dinners/Desserts
At a time when someone really needs their church family, our teams prepare and serve a meal for family and friends after the funeral. Extra helping hands, as well as donated desserts, are always appreciated. Contact: Ilene Dietlein 684-4095
 
Grounds Maintenance at the Church and/or School
Weeding, trimming, planting, watering, mowing - there’s always room for one more on the teams that help to keep our church and school grounds “well-manicured.” Contact: Member Resources 894-2611
 
Christian Salvage Deliverer
Looking for a day’s outing? Once a year or so, someone is needed to drive a trunkful of devotional books to Fowlerville. Contact: Florence Pfundt 894-2611
 
School Volunteers
A chance for parents, grandparents, or any congregation member who would like to help our children in a variety of ways: library, yearbook, school sign, computer room, office help, soup labels, fundraisers, small maintenance projects, classroom helpers, foreign language instructor. Small Group/ChristCare Ministry
This is a trained group of individuals who develop small groups around a common purpose or focus to promote care and support. Contact: Pastor Bill 894-2611
 
Stephen Ministry
A trained Stephen Minister offers one-to-one care, understanding, and a listening ear to an individual in need of Christian care. Contact: Pastor Bill 894-2611
 
Economy Center Worker
Work with fellow Lutherans from area churches at our local Economy Center Re-sale Store sorting, pricing, and selling donated items. Contact: Harriet Leinberger 686-0175
 
TeleCARE
A newly developing ministry, phoning new members once a month, sharing information, prayers, concern and encouragement. Contact: Rita Morrill 894-2611
 
Parish Nurse Group
Members involved in health care fields join together to promote wholeness within the congregation by conducting health screenings and planning informational forums. Contact: Harriet Roller 686-9729
 
Deliver Tapes to Shut-Ins
Take a taped worship service to someone who is unable to attend church. Contact: Florence Pfundt 894-2611
 
ChildCare
Supervise children for a short period of time while parents participate in church services, activities, or meetings. Contact: Bette Berkman 686-0592
 
Thanksgiving Baskets
Help pack food for families in need. Contact: Diane Kocher 893-4979
 
Christmas Caring Tree
